The long view is the simple idea that cause and effect are easy to discern, but cause and consequence very difficult.

Our efforts - on every level from personal to professional to civic - should be to gracefully manage cause and effect, while trying to understand cause and consequence.

The goal is to take the long view in public or private meditation practice. These important ideas can then find some traction in our lives, without strong emotion.

Maybe this could be a positive, constructive response to the tyranny and corruption revealed each day.
